We are proud to announce that we have given permission to present a selection of caches at the delightful Rancho Relaxo. Originally designed as a stud farm for Apaaloosan Horses, this ranch is now under NEW MANAGEMENT and a new direction.
The ranch itself is set in the delightful forest north of Limassol. It has its own water supply and independent power supply. You enter it via the main gate at the top of the winding drive.
The first cache is a straightforward affair near the security gate. You can park there if you want, and walk a short distance to the cache itself. On the way, take a look at the road to the top and decide whether you want to drive up or whether you prefer to walk and enjoy the scenery. It is a fair hike to the top though, so we normally drive.
The cache itself is a decent sized container, so even if you don't plan on doing the whole series, it is worth visiting if you like swaps.
Given the close proximity of the cache to the bottom of the cliff, GPS readings may not be that accurate. Consequently, the clue is a bit of a gimme. After all, we would hate for you to be stumped before you are able to experience the full delights of Rancho Relaxo.
This used to be a 5 cache series. However, we removed 3 of the caches for various reasons, and I have reduced it down to two. I also learned why the place is in the state it is now. The ranch was built by a very wealthy family, and their son managed it. He died tragically and the rest of the family didn't want to continue running it without him.
