Geocache Description:

No, the title of this cache does not refer to the pop group from the 1950s or the numerous businesses and gambling halls that share the name.

We put this one out to commemorate our crazy streak of 1111 days in a row with a cache find.  We are not sure what has longer odds: The chances of us doing this or getting 4 aces in a hand of 5-card draw poker (16215:1). For those who care to read, here are the details:

We started the streak on a non-descript Friday, June 21, 2013.  We has just started geocaching in April with the Boy Scouts and we were looking for something to do that night, so we headed to Borden Park in Rochester Hills and found one.  That weekend we were on a scout event and found 2 more days' worth.  On June 24, we decided that we would see how long we could keep going.  Little did we know where we would end up...

-Some of the streak saving highlights:

-- Four times duing the streak one of us ran a 26.2 mile marathon and managed to find a cache after the event, while barely being able to walk.

-- Finding a cache after a 4 hour ear surgery (while still under the influence of anesthesia) on the way home from the hospital

-- Numerous occasions finding a cache in the dark, cold, snowy Michigan winters of 2013 and 2014 (2015 wasn't as bad, thankfully)

-- Going out jogging while on vacation, sometimes up to 10 miles to keep the streak going

-- Having a water bottle w/holder containg $10 stolen in Central Park, New York City when it was left on a bench for the search (GCM90X)

-- Finding one at 3AM on the way to the airport because we did not know if we would be able to grab one on Grand Cayman the same day

-- Leaving Boy Scout camps in the middle of nowhere to drive a find one (including a few in blizzard-like conditions)

-- Having a flood in the house and being forced to live in a hotel for three months from July to Oct 2014 and still going out daily to keep us alive (actually that really did help with the stress of the whole situation)

We decided that we would end the streak in the summer of 2016 because we didn't want to go through another winter, so we were looking for a memorable number to end it on.  We thought about 1234 but we had a vacation planned in a cache-poor area, so we settled on 1111 (or four aces), so the last consecutive find was July 5, 2016.  July 6 did seem a little weird, but we moved on and will continue to be an active part of the caching community.

Special thanks to all those who helped along the way like Trustworthy, Rambin' Rumble, rootee2t, gsix5666, Team Rumble, RayQix, Team B, june 17, superjosh92, screechowl and all other who placed a cache to help us along!

The cache is located at the edge of Helen V. Allen Memorial Park in Rochester Hills.  There is no fee and hours are 8AM-Dusk
