Geocache Description:

This multicache takes you on a stroll along the traffic-free footpath/cycleway of the Church Village Community Route and is designed to exhibit the schoolchildrens artwork on the Waymarker and fits in neatly with the rest of the CVCR Series and can be done in conjunction with those.

Waymarker Photo

This waymarker post was originally a Victorian cast iron sewerage vent and was re-discovered buried near Power Station Hill (not far from CVCR #1 in fact) during the building of the Church Village Bypass in 2008. It has been restored and spectacularly decorated by local school children and converted into a waymarker for the National Cycle Network and the the 'Eurovelo' European cycle route network.

You will need to answer some questions at the waymarker (answers can either be found on the adjacent notice board or the waymarker itself). The answers will allow you to discover the location of the physical cache which is a tupperware box containing logbook and other items. To help you to plan your route I will tell you that the final cache is located close to the beginning of the CVCR series, not far from CVCR #1.

Some of the content of the childrens artwork on the waymarker is quite futuristic in nature and I may have used some creative licence to interpret what I see but I'm confident you'll be able to come to the same understanding as me when answering the questions! Given the elaborate decoration it seems apt to make reference to the many colours. Any answers which involve colours relate to basic colours, there are no fancy answers required. For the purposes of answering the questions, disregard all artwork which is higher than the slotted vents. All answers are numbers.

This is intended to be a fairly straightforward cache and is on a route which is ideal for those with dogs or young children in pushchairs*, on foot or bicycle. Persons with colour blindness may need some assistance with this cache though!

The final cache is hidden at N51 34. (N/T) (M-T) (S-K) W3 18. (Q-M) (P/L) (J-R)

Q1. J= Find the first letter in the surname of the artist who gave inspiration to these artworks. Which number relates to that letter? (a=1, b=2 etc.)
Q2. K= the number of letters in Bethans surname.
Q3. L= the number of Caitlins who have their signatures on the information board.
Q4. What colour boots is the person standing behind the unoccupied bicycle wearing? If a=1, b=2 etc., M= the number which relates to the first letter of the colour.
Q5. What colour jumper is the man who’s parachuting wearing? N= the number of letters in the name of the colour.
Q6. P= the number of red blades on the red, white and yellow helicopter.
Q7. Q= the number of stick figures riding the ‘caterpillar train’ (easier if you count the heads!).
Q8. R= the 2 digit number painted in black on the ‘6 legged octopus’.
Q9. S= the number of red ‘tentacles’ hanging down from the blue and yellow 'classic shape' UFO (2 digit number)
Q10. Find the rather bizarre looking vehicle which is just southeast of the compass face illustration. T= the number of letters in the word painted on the side of the vehicle.

You may wish to go back and sit at the nearby picnic benches to solve the coordinates before you then go on

Please don't upload any photos to your logs of the artwork on the pillar or anything which gives away any of the answers. Thanks!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude. Mobile signal is pretty good nearby so you may wish to use this checker whilst you're there.
