Geocache Description:

Another cache in the Welcome to Okeechobee series.

Welcome to Cow Town. You know your here by that fragrance in the air! Most of the Welcome to's I've put out have the names of what the locals call our little town. Well, I thought I'd name this one what out-of-towners like to call Okeechobee.....Cow Town. Actually, the name fits considering.

You see, Okeechobee has an average of about 40,000 year round residents. That number jumps to approximately 55,000 in the winter when all the snow birds come down. We also have over 100,000 head of cattle in Okeechobee, between dairy cows (like the ones across the highway from here), beef cows, calves, and breeders. That's more than twice as many cows to people. In fact, we have one of the largest livestock markets in the state, that's been in operation for over 50 years. People come from all over the country to buy our cows. As I said, the name fits, and we don't even take it as an insult. The cache is a larger pill bottle with room for small swag or travelers, plus a log. No room for a pen, so bring your own. Please replace it exactly as you found it, and zip that baggie tight, so the next cachers can have the same experience. Happy Caching!
