Plastic container containing some small objects placed near to 'Big cave'
I usually place my caches in more remote 'off the road' places rather than tourist traps. This cache is at Stórhellir beside road 214 outside the town of Vík on the South coast of Iceland. This is a gravel road,but passable to all vehicles,leading to the picturesque campsite at Þakgil. The road passes through some spectacular scenery and the cache itself is in an area of wind eroded black lava sand. Due to the nature of the road it may only be open between June and November. The cache is a sealed plastic container containing some small items,a pen and notebook. The cave is signposted on road 214.
