This is a micro cache so no room for any swag. Bring your own writing implement. Also, it is located a short drive (1/2 mile) away so don’t be surprised. Last, this is trickier than others in this series as it actually involves a visit to the site to solve the puzzle.
A small cemetery in Ontario County. No night caching please. Do not upset or disturb any markers or headstones. You do not need to move or touch any of them to collect the information needed. Gentle respect for the occupants is expected. Please don't bring animals or allow small children to run about. If you have your children with you, by all means have them help collect the information you need and use this as a learning experience for them about proper cemetery behavior.
Here is a cemetery cache with a little work involved. You have to locate certain headstones and use the dates to calculate the final cache location. When you have a date such as 1/1/2016, add the zero in the day field to yield the needed number (e.g. 1012016).
Find the following stones and make note of the dates of death listed.
Find the only vertical metal plaque
From the above, go west 1 row and find the stone to the right of Ann Stetson
In the Northeast corner, find the stone that says “Father” on top
Sum up the dates and subtract 15230637 to determine Latitude for the cache location
Now find the following stones and make note of the dates listed.
Find Ichabod Wood and look one stone to the right to find a “consort”. (Use 1850 for the year)
Find the only horizontal metal plaque
Go back to Ann Stetson and look three stones to her left. Only one name will have a full date of death
Sum up the dates and ADD 65585 to determine Longitude for the cache location
