Kingsley Gardens Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

QwikChek: As with all the other parks in the area, this one too is overcrowded with termites eating the trees, as well as the local homeless residents and vagrants who make the parks their homes. The tree is about to fall over and all the benches have "permanent residents" keeping a watchful eye on your movements. Sad to let this one go

Geocache Description:

A quick cache, but it's recommended that you take it slowly, and enjoy the park with its facilities.

Please park on Kingsley Gardens Street, and not Z K Mathews (Nicolson) Road. It is a major local arterial, with high volumes of (often speeding) traffic.

Due to security-conscious residents, it would be better not to attempt this cache at night

BYOP

Despite there being a major local arterial road on its boundary, this park is a well-kept secret. In recent months, a group of local residents have taken this park on as a pet project. They have arranged the upgrading of the swings, and the regular cleaning and maintenance of this park, making it a lovely spot for families to bring their children.

Regular informal meetings are held here during the week, with residents even running a chat group to co-ordinate their visits for maximum enjoyment. You won't need any caching tools for this one, unless you're not of the tree-climbing inclination, however some accessories such as a deconstructed cardboard box for enjoying the slopes, a bat and ball or two, or even a picnic blanket and basket, are recommended.

The hope with placing this cache is that you'll discover another "hidden" park to enjoy with your family.

Thanks to indlovu scouts for the container!
