This area of Wimbledon Common is woodlands, and is continually changing. If you go to find this cache in the Summer, and then go back to visit in Winter, you would think it were a different place. Every Summer the nettles and brambles and undergrowth shoot up, not to mention the huge number of foxgloves in this area of the woods. Every Spring all this is stripped back and they pull holly and ivy from the trees, and there are simply a few trees left dotted around. This is before they get their new leaves, so the woods look very naked at this point.
The cache you are looking for is a 1.5ml centrifuge tube, covered in black gaffa tape. There is a log inside that you can sign, but you must bing your own pen, as the cache is too small for one to fit in (biros are best). You may need a pair of tweezers to get the paper out.
It goes without saying but please, please put the cache back exactly where you found it and do not give hints and tips, especially not pictures in your log.
This cache would be unsuitable for wheelchair users.
It has been pointed out to me that Wimbledon Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. This means that you must be careful when looking for the cache to respect and preserve the surrounding environment. Try not to cause any damage and leave this lovely place looking exactly as you found it, for others to enjoy after you.
