Geocache Description:

Shinmeisha shrine that Amaterasu is enshrined is the guardian of Kakunodate.
Cache is near the entrance of the approach. Please bring your own pen.


In the past, Shinmeisha shrine was enshrined in Mt. Furushiroin the north of Kakunodate, and it is said to moved to the current location by Satake-kita family.
This is also where Masumi Sugae, the late Edo period of famous travel writer died, so there is a monument in the precincts.
In the Rei-taisai (regular rites and festivals): September 7-9, Kagura (sacred music and dancing performed at a shrine) is dedicated to the shrine, and 18 units of the floats gather in the precincts for worship in the evening .

神明社は,天照大御神を祭る角館の鎮守です。
キャッシュは参道の入り口付近にあります。ペンをご持参ください。

神明社は,かつて角館の北にある古城山に鎮座していましたが,明暦2年(1658年),佐竹北家によって今の場所に遷座されたと伝えられています。
ここは江戸時代後期の著名な紀行家,菅江真澄が亡くなった場所でもあり,境内には碑が立っています。
毎年9月7日から9日に行われる例大祭では神楽が奉納され,夕方になると18台の山車が参拝のため境内に集まります。
