Geocache Description:

Come join us at Chinquapin Park for the 4th CITO in NoVAGO's New Quarterly CITO initiative. This event is being organized in coordination with City of Alexandria and is designed to assist them in keeping this park clean and beautiful.

Named for the Chinquapin Oak Tree, Chinquapin Park Recreation Center Aquatics Facility opened in 1985 and is centrally located in the city. This park includes a indoor pool, playground, swings, walking trails, a community garden plot, a small dog area, picnic pavilion and a variety of different playing fields. It is located across the parking lot from T.C. Williams High School, who's 1971 undefeated football team inspired the 2000 film Remember the Titans.

CITO stands for Cache In Trash Out. It’s the geocacher’s approach to keeping our game board (i.e. the entire planet) in great shape. Geocachers gather together to pick up trash, remove invasive species, repair trails and more! Also all geocachers who participate in a CITO during this week will earn a pretty sweet new souvenir!

Trash Bags needed for the cleanup will be provided at the starting coords. Let it be known, you WILL get dirty, so dress appropriately, and wear good footwear. The fields could be soggy. The woodline has thorns and some poison ivy. Your garden gloves will come in handy as well. All trash will be piled up at the ONE WAY sign at the begining of the traffic circle.
