Geocache Description:

Microcache with a lovely (weather dependent) view of the Blackwater Valley

History
You are now crossing the Ford of the Apples, (where Beal Áth h’Úbhla or Ballyhooly gets its name), an important crossing point over the River Blackwater. According to local tradition the sides of the valley here were once covered with orchards.  From the cache you can see Ballyhooly Castle, built in 1314 by the first Barons of Fermoy.

The Cache
A small magnetic microcache. Be careful you don't tip it into the river!
