Geocache Description:

In the nineteenth century, Sir Thomas Acland planted this forest to provide timber for his Killerton estate.  Today, it's one of the largest woodlands in East Devon and a valuable habitat for many species of wildlife including the rare pearl-bordered fritillary butterfly, buzzards and roe deer.  There are also some beautiful ancient trees here - sweet chestnut, ash and oak.

A new cache to help make the best direction from cache 7 to cache 8 clearer! After cache 7 continue on the red route past the forest cottages and then take the next path on the right.

After this cache follow the path along to the next junction and turn right onto the purple route.

This is one of Mr Tabbyfox's creative efforts..... You'll need to find a 'tool' to extract log
