Geocache Description:

Just off the footpath beside the New Junction Canal, this cache can form part of a pleasant (weather dependent) walk along the towpath

A straightforward cache, beside steps which look to be suited mainly to anyone with 'nowhere to go'.

This is one of a number of caches placed along the canal which can be done as a small series, the distance between Kirkhouse Green lift bridge and the swing bridge at Sykehouse Lock being a little under 2 miles.
Here, the canal towpath forms part of the 'Trans-Pennine Trail' and is flat and wide throughout. This makes for easy access by foot or cycle, although some of the caches (such as this one) require a slight diversion away from the main path.

** Take care on the wooden sections of the steps in wet weather,
as they can become extremely slippery. **

For this cache, you are looking for a small, camouflaged plastic jar, please leave the container tucked away and with a little extra cover.
