The Monument marks the trailhead of the first phase of a hike/bike trail that starts at Main St. and connects to Riverside Park then extends to Porter Road. Mercer County Trails Association has developed this trail and plans to extend it to the Greenville Area Sports Complex and ultimately to Jamestown, Pa. The community effort is celebrated with this sculpture. It was designed by students at Greenville High School and fabricated by students at George Junior Republic with materials donated by local manufacturers.
