Der Cache befindet sich direkt am Melchsee und bietet einen tollen Blick auf Glogghuis und Rothorn. Sie sind mit 2534 müM (Glogghuis) und 2525 müM (Rothorn) die beiden höchsten Gipfel des Bergmassivs, das direkt am Südufer des See's liegt und die Grenze zwischen den Kantonen Obwalden und Bern bildet
Der Cache befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe des ehemaligen Hotels Alpina. Das Alpina wurde im Dezember 1981 eröffnet, musste jedoch am Ende der Wintersaison 2009 den Betrieb einstellen. Zwischen Sarnen und der Stöckalp verkehrt regelmässig das Postauto. Mit dem Auto kann die Frutt während der Sommersaison über die Fruttstrasse zwischen der Stöckalp und Melchsee-Frutt direkt angefahren werden. Bitte dabei die Parkgebühren (16CHF) und die Zeiten für die Strassenbenutzung beachten.
The cache is located directly at the lake "Melchsee"and offers a great view on the "Glogghuis" and the Rothorn . Both belong with 2534 masl ( Glogghuis ) and 2525 masl ( Rothorn ) to the two highest peaks of the mountains, which lies directly on the south shore of the lake and forms the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Bern.
The cache is located in the immediate vicinity of the former Hotel Alpina. The Alpina was opened in December 1981 and ceased operation at the end of the winter season 2009. Between Sarnen and Stöckalp runs a regular bus service. By car the Frutt can be approached directly during the summer season on the road between the Stöckalp and Melchsee-Frutt.
