Geocache Description:

Located a few feet off of a public trail, on the shores of Silver Lake, this cache brings you near a place of Iron Range history.

Bring your own pen! Please replace exactly as found and cover appropriately, as this has gone missing a couple times.

In 1906, P.R.Vail built a brewery near the shores of Silver Lake in Virginia.  The brewery was built at a cost of $150,000 (about 3.7 million in today's dollars!)  The brewery ran until 1918, when St. Louis County went dry, and met it's ultimate demise when the nation entered prohibition.  Take some time to walk across the street and check out the brewery building, but please be respectful of the property as it is privately owned.

You will be looking for a silver micro bison capsule.  Container should be accessable in light snow.
