Geocache Description:

A tribute cache to Ken Barrie voice of childrens' television show Postman Pat which takes you to an area with views of the Swartkops river as it flows past Despatch.

Postman Pat This cache serves as a tribute to Ken Barrie, the voice of childrens' television show Postman Pat, who passed away recently on 29 July 2016 at the age of 83. Barrie, who was born Leslie Hulme, provided the voice for Pat and many of the other characters in the animated series, as well as singing the famous theme song. The cache is situated alongside the road in Pienaar Street where one can see the Swartkops River meandering past Despatch. If you are fortunate you may catch a glimpse of the fish eagles which nest in the trees on the banks of the river. IMPORTANT: The GZ is in clear view of residential properties on the opposite side of the road, so extreme STEALTH is essential. Please park off the road on the grass across the road from the houses. The cache is NOT hidden on the residential properties.
