Junto a la valla de metal, divisamos la pista sur del aeropuerto Murcia-San Javier. Es la pista de aterrizaje-despegue 0.5 (cero-cinco). Sólo se abre cuando sopla el viento de Levante, lo que impide que se utilice la pista 2.3 (dos-tres), que es la habitual. El placer entonces es insuperable. En "horas punta" (las horas de mayor tráfico aéreo; sobre todo, por la tarde-noche), vemos cómo este trozo de terreno se llena de gente, para ver y, especialemente, sentir cómo los aviones pasan literalmente por encima de sus cabezas. La primera vez puede resultar incluso aterrador. Pero, superado el primer momento, tiene un efecto que te engancha...Por eso, te invitamos a hacer este caché cualquier entre las 7 y las 9.30, cualquier tarde-noche de verano... Aunque, por supuesto, podrás hacerlo cuando te apetezca.
PLAYA DE LA HITA, ESPACIO NATURAL PROTEGIDO
La pasarela de madera que parte desde el punto donde está el caché te permitirá dar un agradable paseo por un entorno natural, entre carrizal y humedales, sobre unas antiguas salinas. Por ella, puedes llegar al camping "Mar Menor". Seguro que podrás refrescarte con alguna buena cerveza, en alguna de sus fiestas nocturnas estivales. Y, pasando por la Playa de la Hita, te conducirá hasta el paseo de la playa de las Salinas, en Los Alcázares. Eso sí, al atardecer, no olvides darte alguna loción antimosquitos, para evitar picaduras.
La zona pertenece al espacio natural protegido Playa de la Hita (entre los municipios de San Javier y Los Alcázares) que está incluido en los Espacios Abiertos e Islas del Mar Menor, por lo que se puede considerar una de las pocas playas salvajes existentes en el Mar Menor.
Aquí se puede ver la rica vegetación típica de humedales y salitre, donde destaca la siempreviva. En el camino, encontrarás también un observatorio de aves, donde puedes observar a la cigüeñuela o al charrancito, entre otras.
EL CACHÉ
El caché se encuentra al inicio de este camino de pasarela. Contiene sólo el logbook, así que necesitarás algo para escribir. Aunque el lugar esté lleno de gente, con cierto disimulo puedes hacerte con él con facilidad. También puedes aprovechar cuando todo el mundo mira al cielo, al pasar un avión... o esperar a que todo el mundo se vaya, cuando ha pasado el avión de turno.

Beside the metal fence, we can see the southern runway Murcia-San Javier airport. It’s the runway-off 0.5 (zero-five), only open when the wind Levante blows, which keeps closed the track 2.3 (two-three), that is the standard used. Pleasure then is unsurpassed. BEACH OF THE HITA, A PROTECTED NATURAL AREA
The wooden walkway that starts in the point where the cache is, will allow you to take a pleasant walk through a natural setting, among the reed bed and wetlands, on some abandoned saltworks. Continuing the path, you can reach the camping “Mar Menor”. There, you can freshen up with some good beer, in one of its summer night parties. And passing by the Beach of the Hita, it will lead you to the promenade in the Beach of the Salinas, Los Alcázares. However, at sunset, do not forget to give some mosquito repellent lotion, to avoid bites.
The area belongs to the protected natural area Beach of the Hita (between San Javier and Los Alcázares townships) which is included in the Open Spaces and Islands of the Mar Menor, so it can be considered one of the few existing wild beaches on the Mar Menor.
Here you can see the rich typical vegetation of wetlands and saltpeter, where the houseleek stands out. On your way, you will also find a bird observatory, where you can watch black-winged stilts and terns, among others.
THE CACHE
The cache is located at the beginning of this path walkway. It contains only the logbook, so you will need something to write. Although the place is crowded, you can get to it easily just with some slyness. You can also take advantage when everyone looks at the sky, while a plane is passing over ... or wait for everyone to leave, when the plane or planes landed.
