Geocache Description:

SCUBA cache located at Meada Point near the swim-through. SCUBA qualification required for this cache; please observe all SCUBA safety protocols, and have a buddy!

Henry is placed near the swim-through close to Maeda steps. To find Henry, enter the water near the steps, and follow the chain all the way down to where it ends. From there, turn left (to the north-northwest), and go towards the swim-through. You will slowly descend, keeping the shore to your left, and the underwater coral/rock mound on your right. There's a tight swim-through arch, which you can go through if you are confident you can safely make it through the space, or you can swim over the top of it. Henry is in an alcove of coral on the far (North) side of the swim-through, tethered to the coral with 550 cord, at about 35-40 feet (depending on tide state). Use the dive pencil to log on the slate, and please be sure to put Henry back as you found him to protect him from currents and SCUBA muggles! Henry is rated max difficulty because SCUBA diving is required, but this is a basic, fairly easy dive. However, be sure to observe conditions before entering the water (Maeda posts flags to indicate safety or danger conditions). Maeda is a favorite dive spot in Okinawa. There is pay parking (if you try to park on the street instead of the lot you might get a ticket), and there are food concessions and restrooms. There are nice overlooks and walking paths. A staircase leads down to the water for the dive spot. The "blue cave" is to the right from the steps, and can get really crowded. To the left, there's a really nice wall, which is less crowded, and a shallow cove. If you find Henry quickly, you can keep going along the wall. Recommended dive plan: go out along the wall at whatever depth you are comfortable (according to your qualification!), then once you hit your planned turnaround time or air, ascend as you come back to see a more shallow part of the wall.
