This building was once known as the Rains County Heritage Center. It was used for various meetings and events, but was also home for a local church that met here on Sundays for several years. Believers Baptist Church held services here until they finished their building on Highway 19 north of town. Every Sunday morning, a group of church members would meet to set up the chairs and sound system before services started. After the service, the chairs and sound system would have to be put back up and stored until the next Sunday.
After Believers Baptist Church built their building and stopped meeting here, it became home to the Rains County AgriLife Extension Agency. This agency's office is still housed here. Monday thru Friday, 8:00-5:00, you may see a few cars parked next to the building. Other random days throughout the year, classes or events may be held, so the parking lot will be fuller. The extension agent is aware of the cache, but stealth may be needed if other cars are in the lot.
