Hennessey's Hill is a high point in the old mining settlement of Currawang.
In the period 1866 to 1872, Currawang was the largest copper producer in New South Wales. Mining continued until 1882 and resumed briefly in 1897 & 1907. By 1875 there were between 350 and 400 residents in the area, only slightly less than Tarago!
Most traces of the community have been erased by time (or by mine rehabilitation). All that remains of the old house on Hennessey's Hill is the chimney (and the great views).
Please don't park on the main road. There is a suitable place for parking at the top of the hill on the western side.
Please replace the cache as found (covered). Thanks
