Welcome to the Pipeline Lake Loop Trial, one of the most scenic trails in the chugach national forest. This trail highlights the 5 pipeline lakes and the trail loops around to join up with McKinley lake trail, which heads only a quarter mile or so further out the road. These lakes were once stocked by the Alaska Department of fish and game and several still hold good populations of both Cutthroat and Dollly Varden. The trail itself winds through the open country as well as the timber along the shoreline of the lakes and is a very popular destination for locals both for being scenic and relatively easy to hike. Don,t forget your boots along with your bug and bear spray.
