Geocache Description:

A simple event to meet other local cachers.

The Tea House
Meet at the Tea House (not to be confused with the tea-shop which is nearby) between 2:00 and 4:30. The Tea House was originally built in 1910 but was badly damaged by an arson attack in 2010. It was re-opened on the 23rd February 2012.

Please come and meet up with us in the Tea-House for a chat. We have noticed that there have been quite a few new cachers in the Newport area recently, so we thought this would be a good opportunity for everybody to get to know each other. I'm sure there will be a number of experienced cachers as well, who will be happy to answer any questions anyone might have. There is now a cafe in the park which will be open until 4:30. There are also toilets, but they too will be locked after 4:30. There is some car parking in the park, but space is limited. There is ample parking on nearby roads. If the weather is nice, we might sit on the grass alongside the Tea House in which case a blanket to sit on might be useful. If the weather is not so good, the Tea House is covered but has no seats, so a folding chair might come in handy.

There is a cache in the park if you haven't already found it (GC248C3), and a children's playground if you have small children to be entertained.
