A large cemetery in Monroe County. No night caching please. Do not upset or disturb any markers or headstones. You do not need to move or touch any of them to collect the information needed. Gentle respect for the occupants is expected. Please don't bring animals or allow small children to run about. If you have your children with you, by all means have them help collect the information you need and use this as a learning experience for them about proper cemetery behavior.
Here is a cemetery cache with a little work involved. You have to locate certain headstones and use the dates of death to calculate the final cache location. When you have a date such as 1/1/2016 add the zero in the day field to yield the needed number (e.g. 1012016).
Upon entering the cemetery you will see a tall grey pillar about 100 yards from the gateway just to the left of the road. Start there
The person named on the tall grey pillar died: _____________
In the same row, looking North is a brown pillar about 50 feet away. Use the date of death for the person who died in December
Head straight south now, cross the road, and find R.D.’s daughter
Sum up the dates and subtract 19276262 to determine Latitude for the cache location
Now find the following stones and make note of the dates listed.
Three rows Northeast of the grey pillar you’ll find a stone with Anne Gott’s name. Use the date for the other person named on this stone.
Four rows WNW of the grey pillar you’ll find a ‘Joseph’ who faces East. On the other side, facing west, is Sarah. Use Sarah’s date
Remember R.D.’s daughter? 3 rows West is the Rose family. Pick the name that faces South.
Sum up the dates and subtract 23716189 to determine Longitude for the cache location (located about 0.7 miles away)
