Supernatural is an American fantasy horror television series created by Eric Kripke. The series follows two brothers (Dean and Sam Winchester) as they hunt demons, ghosts, monsters, and other supernatural beings. It was first broadcast on September 13, 2005 on The WB and subsequently became part of successor The CW's lineup. Season 12 is set to premiere on October 13, 2016 and will hopefully run for many more seasons. I was introduced to Supernatural after searching for something similar to The X Files on Netflix. I quickly became a huge fan and watch each and every episode I can get my hands on.
Lucifer (played by Mark Pellegrino) is one of the four Archangels created by God, the brother of Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel. Sometime after God created the Archangels, the Darkness attacked God and the cosmos. God could not wholly defeat the Darkness on His own so He called the Archangels to fight the Darkness off. Lucifer and Michael fought the Darkness and all four Archangels imprisoned the Darkness in a prison. God made a lock for the prison, called the Mark, and He gave it to Lucifer, becoming a brand on Lucifer's arm, but it slowly corrupted Lucifer into becoming evil. Lucifer later passed the Mark onto Cain. When Lucifer is released from his prison, Hell, he is destined to possess Sam and eventually succeeds.
