Geocache Description:

Summer Skies Equinox held in September. Event themes; culture, education and the environment are the focus of Bon Accord's new brand and strategic plan. The event embraces learning, experiencing and enjoying a part of the world we often take for granted, but which has shaped civilizations through all time...the sky above.

Geocaching 201: How to Hide a Geocache, and

Geocaching 101a: a Quick intro to Geocaching, if required


Are you new to geocaching? Or have you been caching for a little while, but want to pick up some additional tips, maybe you're ready to hide a cache and need to know what is involved? Maybe you're an experienced geocacher who is willing to share your knowledge and team up with some beginners to lend a hand, or just want to be inspired to create a special cache. Join us for Geocaching 201:

DATE: Saturday September 24th, 2016
TIME: 17:00 hrs - 18:00 hrs, or 5pm to 6pm
LOCATION: Town of Bon Accord Bon Accord Community School (see posted coordinates) just off 57th Street, Bon Accord Alberta, T0A 0K0 - The Southwest Corner of town
COST: FREE!

9. Have you found the world's largest Travel Bug?

We will spend some time indoors going over the basics if the weather allows we may go outside to see camo in the wild. There will be a question period and personalized help if required.

If you have a GPSr or smartphone bring it with. No prior experience is necessary, but it will be beneficial for attendees to browse the website prior to the event, and sign up for a free membership. Everyone is welcome. We hope to have plenty of beginners looking to learn more, but we will also have some experienced geocachers willing to team up with some new folks to help them around town. We'd also appreciate some experienced cachers bringing GPS units so that new folks can see how they work if they don't have one of their own.
