Nearby in response to a request from such Koritsushowabyoin, Seibu Railway, was opened in 1940, April 23, in the middle of the Hanakoganei Station and Kodaira Station of Murayama line (now Seibu Shinjuku Line). Hospital has provided the soil for the opening of the station to dig the land. This station there was another purpose in addition to getting on and off of people. The station storage tank to take advantage of manure as fertilizer had been placed. That's right lead-in for the loading and unloading of manure was on the south side. Loading and unloading of the manure was started from June 1944. The functions of the station in order to get in and out of people, but was completed in September 1944, loading and unloading of manure lasted until March 1953. Thereafter, resuming activities of the station have been made by local residents, not been realized.

西武新宿線にはかつて東小平駅という駅がありました。 花小金井駅と小平駅とのほぼ中間地点です。 西武新宿線と青梅街道が交差する場所の少し西側にありました。 近くの公立昭和病院などから要請を受けて、西武鉄道が、村山線（現在の西武新宿線）の花小金井駅と小平駅の中間に1940年4月23日に開業しました。 病院は、土地を掘って駅の開業のために土を提供したそうです。 この駅は人の乗り降りのほかにもう一つ糞尿を肥料として活用するための貯留槽が置かれていました。 また積み下ろしのための引き込み線が南側にあったそうです。 糞尿の積み下ろしは1944年6月から開始されました。 人の乗り降りするための駅の機能としては、1944年9月に終了しましたが、糞尿の積み下ろしは1953年3月まで続きました。 その後、近隣住民によって駅の再開活動が行われましたが、実現されていません。
駅の場所は、戦時中の一時期であるため、公的な地図には記載されていないようです。 一部の書物では、青梅街道と交差する踏切に接する空き地のような表現もあります。 しかし、戦時中の陸軍による航空写真から存在を知ることができました。(写真見てね）
現在、駅があったと思われる場所には線路の両側に鉄道用地がまだ残っています。 航空写真と、その鉄道用地を見ると確かに東小平駅があったことが分かります。
