Just a replacement to one I found years ago. Copied the description of the previous owner. A simple find that takes you close to the site of the Stanfield VOR. Did you ever drive down route 84 and see that white looking thing-a-ma-jiggy standing alone on the North side of the highway East of Stanfield? Its called a VOR which is an acronym for Very high frequency Omni Range. This "beacon" is one of thousands that are used by aviation for navigation of aircraft. This particular VOR is used as a navigational checkpoint for aircraft bound for Phoenix, Tucson and Casa Grande. This station sends out a signal on a frequency of 114.8mhz which can be picked by specially equipped aircraft navigational receivers. You can find similar VORs near Prescott, Gila Bend, Buckeye. Although many of these are on airport property, this one stands alone. Please don't go past the white fence surrounding the station. That area is off limits. Cache area is slightly tricky to reach. Not as easy as you think.
