LostKakaBirds: I'm archiving this one due to having issues when I went to perform maintenance. Either the tree has grown or I've shrunk and I was unable to reach. After stepping up I found the pot had gone, and a local resident came out of his home to ask what I was up to, so to prevent him from being disturbed in the future this one is now being put to rest.
