Geocache Description:

An End of the Road cache. Container: Small plastic sistema. Camouflaged. Small swaps only. Bring own pen
7/12/17: New waterproof container and log. Terrain rating and attributes updated.

Cache is located at the base of a prominent object at the end of this road. Please ensure it is left hidden, as it will be easily muggled.

This is located next to the entrance for the back wards of the historic & now defunct Kenmore Psychiatric Hospital.

There is a new housing estate being developed here, on what used to be a Seventh Day Adventist retreat & camp site.

The cache is located above the Wollondilly River, at an area highlighted in an article  published in the Goulburn Post  in February 2016. In the article, the history of the location and riverside building found on Goulburn Mulwaree Council land below the cache are described. An extract follows:

"Goulburn once had a beautiful picnic area where people swam and fished and rowed boats on a wide stretch of the Wollondilly River.

The Kenmore Pleasure Grounds, at the bottom of Wollondilly Ave, was in operation from the 1890s to the 1950s.

Now all that remains is the old boathouse.

The council owns the 3780 m strip of land around it, which is begging for restoration into a recreational park.

Then maybe the boathouse could once again become the scene of idyllic riverside picnics and boating parties?”

So bring your fishing rod or canoe if you like, & have a look at the old boathouse while you are here. Please consider taking some of the litter with you when you leave, to encourage the beautification of this forgotten leisure area.
