Geocache Description:

an easy cache close to the old bridge over the Olifantsrivier in Clanwilliam

coming from the N7 just when you pass the new bridge over the Olifantsrivier, there is a small tarred service road that is used by construction lorries to build the new dam wall. when the wall will be finished the Clanwilliam dam will supply more water to the farmers downstream, up to Lutzville, Klawer, Vredendal and Koekenaap. there is a safe parking spot on the right side of the service road, a few 100 metres from GZ. the cache is hidden very close to the canal that provides water to the farmers on the old Klawer road. be careful of the construction vehicles, but you can also take a walk to the old bridge, from where you have a nice view of the dam wall.
