There are places on Earth so mysterious that they have not been explained scientifically. Many locals have witnessed bizarre events at the location you are about to adventure to. Beware! You are going to walk along the Monument Valley Pathway to the Trails "Dead" End. Many rumors have spread throughout town as to why the path comes to an abrupt stop. It has been rumored that this was the determined end of Phase One, the City ran out of money and unable to find additional donors and there was a dispute between the City and the Scottsbluff National Monument about trespassing on their land.
But the truth be told, workers working on this section of the pathway ran into many bizarre events which eventually made them discontinue their work on the pathway. The City searched for other contractors but none of them were willing to take on the task after hearing the stories. Some of these stories include a worker stating “He witnessed large machinery disappearing, tools moving on their own and co-workers disappearing without any sign." Another story states a worker was looking for a shady spot to eat his lunch, he walked behind a small tree and vanished. Rumors say another worker went to the same area and he saw a vortex. Curious he entered the small portal which gradually narrowed down. According to the stories, he explained that "It was rotating with intense magnetic flashes going off in a hazy hallway. He stated: " I have never felt this type of sensation before or since."
These stories leave some locals wondering if portals really do exist. The challenge of this cache, if you choose to take it, is to look for a cache in the tree next to the vortex. If you are transported to another dimension please share your experience with us.
Please follow geocaching guidelines and remember: You must sign the log inside the cache in order to log a "found it". The CO will remove logs that don't match the log sheet in the cache. Please do not duplicate a "found it" log, more than one "found it" log will be removed by the CO. If you look for the cache and are unable to find it, please post a DNF and the CO will check on the cache. DO NOT place a throw down cache or use power trail tactics. The original log in the original cache must be signed.
