Geocache Description:

Please plan to join GONIL as we clean-up along the North Shore Bike Path in Lake Bluff, between Bradley Road and Waukegan Road. This will be CITO number SEVENTEEN along this path! Coordinates given are for parking at the Waukegan Road end. Everyone is welcome!!

When: Saturday, September 24, 2016
Time: 3:00pm - 5:00pm

We will meet in the parking lot across the street from our start point on the path, near the Panera Bread, at 3:00 pm to sign the log. We will then cross Waukegan Road as a group to start the clean-up. Parking coordinates are the listed coords for this event.

GONIL is an official participant in the Adopt-A-Road program in Lake County. The section we are responsible for is actually a bike path between Libertyville and Lake Bluff. The clean-up should take about 90 minutes (less if we have a lot of folks, more if only a few). Lake County has posted a sign along this section of bike path announcing our contribution to keeping their land (your land, our land) clean.

Bring gloves and your own trash picker-uppers. Garbage bags and safety vests will be provided by the county. If you have any 5-gallon buckets (like the orange ones from the local home improvement stores) bring them along; they are really handy for collecting trash and then putting it into the trash bags.

Lisa Creamer aka sunshnface is organizing this event. Though she is no longer on the board, she is being very giving of her time to help plan this CITO. If anyone is wanting to volunteer their time like sunshnface does, ask us how you can help get involved with giving back by helping with GONIL's vision of community outreach and public awareness of our great efforts.

Also, there is a souvenir given out to those attending a CITO between September 17 and 25!

Of course there are caches located along or near the bike path as well as others in the general vicinity so bring your GPSr, too.
