Geocache Description:

This is a simple puzzle cache. The listed coordinates are false. There is no reward for going there.

The Summer Olympics come around every four years – and this one was not looked forward to with the same anticipation by many, including ourselves. However, we were more involved in watching than we expected and the highlights for us were not always the NZ gold medals. This is a simple puzzle to honour those who did get one of the precious medals.

For us, some highlights were the joy on the face of Eliza McCartney’s face as she vaulted, the enthusiasm of Lydia Ko for the whole Olympic experience and the nail biting narrow margin for the win by Mahe Drysdale. You might like to mention any highlights in your logs, but it is not a requirement of course.

The cache area will be familiar to many – after all the Olympics have been held in the same places a few times.

As usual, a team medal counts as a single medal in our count. ‘Medals’ refers to medals won in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

The cache is at South 41 18.ABC East 173 14.DEF
