Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed as a tribute to CAGeo – our friends from the Czech Geocaching Association who in conjunction with the UK team, brought their excellent GPS Maze (Europe) to the North Wales 2016 UK Mega event at Llangollen in August 2016. This was the first time it visited the UK and only its 3rd appearance in Europe.

What is the GPS Maze (Europe)
A GPS MAZE is a special type of event cache. It is a travelling educational and interactive exhibition designed to teach people of all ages about GPS technology and geocaching.
The concept was created by Geocaching HQ and Minotaur mazes in North America and had made 22 appearances before CAGeo developed and first presented their GPS Maze (Europe) to the geocaching community late in 2013.

GPS Maze (Europe) – United Kingdom
Late in 2013 North Wales was selected as the host region for the 9th UK Mega Event. The Royal Pavilion at Llangollen was chosen as the location and soon afterwards CAGeo were contacted with a proposal to bring the GPS Maze (Europe) to the UK. Team members had visited it in Prague in 2013 and others went to see it and meet the CAGeo team in Mainz, Germany in 2015.
In July 2015 we were delighted to hear our proposal had been chosen over several other bids received from other European teams. This was announced to the UK geocaching community at the closing ceremony of the 8th UK Mega event help in Essex in August 2015.
The following year was spent working very closely with CAGeo to upgrade and improve the GPS Maze (Europe). Finally, in early August 2016, CAGeo brought the GPS Maze (Europe) to Llangollen where over 2500 geocachers (and non-geocachers) visited the exhibit.
