Il ponte a bilanciere
Vicino al punto in cui le acque della Piave Vecchia incontrano quelle del Sile, sorge un manufatto industriale costruito per la bonifica dei territori circostanti: un vecchio ponte a bilanciere, costruito tra il 1925 e il 1927, in località Caposile.
Il ponte a bilanciere funzionava grazie a un sofisticato ed ingegnoso sistema di contrappesi, capace di permettere l’apertura manuale delle parti mobili del ponte, così da consentire il passaggio di barche a remi o con motore di poca potenza. Il ponte a bilanciere, conservato in maniera perfetta ed utilizzato a pieno fino al 1957, oggi serve pedoni e ciclisti che possono godere delle bellezze paesaggistiche del territorio del Basso Piave: luoghi dove le opere dell’uomo si fondono perfettamente con il contesto ambientale che le circonda.

The balance bridge
Near the point where the waters of the Piave Vecchia meet those of the Sile, there is an industrial product constructed for the reclamation of the surrounding territories: an old balance bridge, built between 1925 and 1927, in Caposile.
The balance bridge worked thanks to a sophisticated and ingenious system of counterweights, able to allow the manual opening of the mobile parts of the bridge, so as to allow the passage of rowing boats or boats with little power engine. The balance bridge, perfectly preserved and used until 1957, today serves pedestrians and cyclist to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Lower Piave area: places where the works of man blend perfectly with the environment that sorrounds.
