Il Senato e Mirò

Il Senato fu istituito da Luigi XII di Francia, con l'editto di Vigevano dell'11 novembre 1499, sul modello dei parlamenti francesi, in sostituzione di due precedenti collegi: il Consilium secretum (consiglio segreto) e il Consilium iustitiae (consiglio di giustizia).

L'organo fu poi mantenuto dagli spagnoli, che ne ampliarono notevolmente le competenze, e dagli austriaci, rappresentando un importante elemento di continuità dello Stato.

Venne definitivamente soppresso dall'imperatore Giuseppe II d'Austria, con editto dell'11 febbraio 1786, nell'ambito delle riforme che innovarono profondamente, modernizzandolo, il sistema giuridico dello Stato di Milano. In relazione a tali riforme Carlo Cattaneo ebbe a scrivere: "Si abolirono le preture feudali, s'abolì un Senato, sul quale pesava la memoria di supplizii iniqui e crudeli ... si abolì la tortura, che puniva nell'innocente i delitti dell'ignoto, sparvero le fruste, le tenaglie infocate, le orribili rote, l'inquisizione".

Le funzioni del Senato, abolito da Giuseppe II, furono assunte da un nuovo organismo, dipendente direttamente dal governo austriaco, denominato Consiglio di Governo. Quest'ultimo a sopravvisse sino al 1797, quando venne sostituito dal Senato della Repubblica Cisalpina, di stampo rivoluzionario.

La statua di Mirò
MÉRE UBU o Madre Ubu è un’imponente scultura in bronzo risalente al 1975 opera del maestro del Surrealismo Joan Mirò, donata dall'artista alla città di Milano nel ’76.
Una figura misteriosa e zoomorfa, con il volto d’uccello, il ventre ampio e concavo come una grotta, si erge su due zampe possenti percorsa da incisioni che richiamano i segni tipici delle tele dell’artista.

La cache causa continuo rubaggio è stata ridotta ad una slim magnetica inserita nel recinto della statua a pochi metri.

The Senato and Mirò

The Senate was established by Louis XII of France, with the edict of Vigevano 11 November 1499, the parliaments of the French model, replacing the previous two colleges: the Consilium secretum (insider tip) and the Consilium iustitiae ( of Justice) council.

The organ was then maintained by the Spaniards, which greatly expanded the powers, and by the Austrians, representing an important element of continuity of the State.

Was finally abolished by Emperor Joseph II of Austria, by an edict of 11 February 1786, as part of the reforms that deeply innovated, modern look, the legal system of the State of Milan. In relation to these reforms Carlo Cattaneo wrote: "He abolished the feudal preture, s'abolì a Senate, which weighed on the memory of tortures unfair and cruel ... it abolished torture, which punished the innocent of the crimes 'unknown, sparvero whips, fiery pincers, horrible rote, the Inquisition. "

The functions of the Senate, abolished by Joseph II, were taken by a new body, directly dependent on the Austrian government, called the Council of Government. The latter to survive until 1797, when it was replaced by the Senate of the Cisalpine Republic, revolutionary mold.

The Mirò Statue
Mere Ubu and Mother Ubu is an imposing bronze sculpture dating back to 1975 by the master of Surrealism Joan Miró, donated by the city of Milan in '76.
A mysterious figure and zoomorphic, with the face of a bird, the large belly and concave like a cave, stands on two powerful legs covered by carvings that recall the typical signs of the artist's paintings.
