This cache is to commemorate one of the all-time greatest works of bad cinema. Filmed and produced in 1966 in El Paso and intended as a serious horror movie, “Manos” instead garnered laughter and mockery from its very first public screening. It remained in utter obscurity until 1993 when it had the great fortune of being featured on Season 4 Episode 24 of "Mystery Science Theater 3000," where it was riffed mercilessly. That exposure has brought the movie an unexpected cult following, and it has since been featured on "Elvira's Movie Macabre," "RiffTrax Live," and "The Schlocky Horror Picture Show," and cosplayers at various conventions dress as the Master or as his semi-faithful servant Torgo. The story has since been immortalized in a few video games and has found new life (an undead joke) in a cheezy stage play format and as a puppet show called "Manos, The Hands of Felt." There are even rumors of a remake and of a sequel dubbed "Manos Returns." Rather amazing, for a piece of really bad fiction.
