Geocache Description:

Cows have been with us since the early Neolithic period, occupying an important role in our development as a society and culture. This is in tribute to that ubiquitous bovine that has made such an important contribution to the history of the wild, wild, west, including some of histories more famous mavericks .

All caches are along the frontage road and are not accessed from the freeway.


Elsie the Cow is a fictionalized cartoon cow developed by the Borden Company in the 1930's as a spokescow for their dairy products. Since Borden's demise in the 1990's, Elsie has worked for Eagle Brand, who aquired the Borden Company.

Named one the Top 10 Advertising Icons of the 20th Century, Elsie is easily one of the most recognized company logos in the U.S. She is an honorary Seneca Chief.
