ANNOUNCEMENT OF ADDITIONS AND CHANGES: We had planned to hold a formal event on Friday night, but that did not materialize due to unforseen circumstances from a personal standpoint and other sources. Therefore, we are holding just an informal get together at 7:00 p.m. in the Banquet Room of the Auburn Golf Course Clubhouse, 29630 Green River Road SE, Auburn WA for a fun time to mix and mingle with fellow geocachers, both experienced and newbies. You may order from the restaurant's menu if you like and they will have staff on hand to serve our group. No cache find can be earned since it is not a formal event, but we look forward to seeing you there. We will give you some advance notice on a few things you can expect on the following day. We are likely to have a few prizes for a drawing.
WHAT: Join fellow cachers and put a face with a name you have seen on a log or two. We will provide light refreshments to get you going early in the day, and maybe give a boost to your cache hunting later on. Visit with long-tme caching friends and meet some new geocachers who may have traveled to this event. Help a fellow geocacher with a hint to find a cache that has been stumping them for a while. Bring some friends with you, or maybe someone you've heard express an interest in learning about geocaching.
After the event, we invite you to partake in a fun day of hunting some new geocaches we're putting out for you to enjoy learning about the historic locations that are significant in Auburn's history, as well as some new park caches, too. If this sounds like fun, plan to stick around after the event to pick up a geo-passport, and use your smartphone APP to find the 20 caches in this year's Adventure. Your reward? A beautifully designed geocoin will be awarded. One completed passport and geocoin per household, please, to provide a reward to as many as possible.
Due to issues at the factory, we may not receive the coin by day of event, but be sure you have accurate and legible information on your completed passport and we will get it to you after the event, much like we did for those that completed the challenge post-event last year. There are 300 coins this year, so we expect to have plenty for all who attend, but one per household as stated above.
Please log your Will Attend with the number in your party so we will know how many to prepare for. All geocaches will be released at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
