I found my first geocache on October 8, 2011. Five years later (Y5) I am quickly approaching 5,000 Finds (5K). I was really hoping to make this event my #5,000 find but I'm not quite there BUT WHO CARES! Close enough.
So why a SAMMICH? Why not?! Some people love to post on social media all their accomplishments and that's great. We all LIKE their social posts and encourage them to keep on keeping on. As many of the local cachers know, I became a bit famous for my comment on a local cachers status when an accomplishment was posted. My response was "I ate a sammich".
Here is my accomplishment today, 5 YEARS OF GEOCACHING AND (nearly) 5,000 FINDS!! (I'll get them soon). What better way to celebrate my accomplishment than to EAT A SAMMICH! Come and join me at the posted coords and celebrate with me. I'll feed you a sammich and probably some chips and cookies.
This event will begin at posted coords at 11:00 a.m. I will be giving out NEW CACHES at 11:15 a.m. and then you can hang around or you can do something with those coords. Everyone meet back at posted coords at 12:30 p.m. for food and prizes!
