Geocache Description:

This is part of a series of caches celebrating the extreme points of Halton. This cache lies near the southernmost point of the borough, and it contains part of the coordinates for the bonus cache.

Halton is a relatively small borough, mostly centred on the towns of Widnes and Runcorn, but also including the parishes of Hale, Halebank, Moore, Daresbury, Preston Brook and Sandymoor.

In this series, we visit Halton's extreme points! It will take you as far north, south, east and west as it's possible to get in the borough. In each cache you'll find part of the coordinates for the bonus cache.

This cache takes you almost to the far south of Halton, near the Whitehouse Industrial Estate and the village of Dutton. The true southernmost point is about 300 metres away from the cache at the Weaver Junction, the point at which the Liverpool branch of West Coast Mainline splits away from the main part of the railway. Unfortunately this point is inaccessible to the public, so instead I've placed the cache as far south as I could get. (See the waypoints for details.)

Don't forget to note down the partial coordinates for the bonus!
