ECV - Oregon Beach Gold Traditional Cache

Just a quick little cache to draw attention to this historical marker. Most people do not know that the gold rush extended clear down to the ocean beaches... The nearby plaque was erected a few years ago by the local (and only) Oregon chapter of E Clampus Vitus, a historical organization who's primary focus is the Gold Rush era and early settlers of the western United States. There are other plaques erected throughout southwest Oregon and eventually I'd like to make them a geo series but so far this is the only one on the coast. Please take the time to read the plaque and repect the area. There is a nice parking area here but it is all gravel, be VERY careful entering and exiting the highway here!!! Be considerate of other highway traffic & don't cause an accident just trying to find a cache.
