S.o.B. - Border Chirper Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

htomc42: Letting this one go for now, it had a good run. Partial bird-house is still there; after cutting a nice access to the final through massive vines, the regular final was gone. Also there are issues with chirp; more modern phones won't work with it. Retrieved the chirp module from angry hornets, this one will likely see a new cache.

Geocache Description:

A gadget cache by htomc42

In 1949, Mr. Alan Schafer built a simple 18 x 36 foot beer stand known as South of the Border Beer Depot. As it adjoined the North Carolina counties, which were dry of alcoholic beverages, business boomed. A few years later a 10-seat grill was added and the business was re-named South of the Border Drive-In. “The Border”, as employees call it, has become a little town within itself. It’s unique and one-of-a-kind. Now, 67 years later we hope you will enjoy another reason - Geocaches - to stop at "The Border" where the two Carolinas meet and enjoy finding varies types of gadget caches. The caches are not park and grabs but instead a geotrail that encourages a cacher to stay a while in "The Border" and take a rest, find 12 caches, and explore the area. If a tool or tott is needed it will be listed on the cache pages. Can you hear the little birdie singing its song?

Listen very closely-- you might hear el pajarito telling you where the cache is located!
