Geocache Description:

A small pill bottle cache with log and a few small tradables.  Located at 6603’’ above sea level.

The fifth of a series of caches planned to be hidden at or near the historic rural schoolhouses of Routt County - beginning in West Routt!

Pleasant View School was located at this intersection from 1916 - 1952

According to the book “Windows to Yesterday” (Leslie, 1998), Bryron Shelton, Bob Norvell and Sam Adair donated the acre of land.  The district was first called Middle Hayden and sometimes called Cook School.  It was an 8’x18’ building with a teacherage and a well.  The school was closed in 1952 when it was consolidated with Hayden and the building was moved to Hayden in 1954 where it served as the First Baptist Church until 1960.  It was torn down in 1995.

This cache MAY be accessible in the winter - but would depend on how deep the snow is -- in the spring, how deep the ditches are!
