Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches along Cutha River between Beaumount and Balculatha. BYOP

Maintenance - if there are any issues with any of the caches please note which ones also please advise when there is only room for 5 others to sign so I can arrange to get out and replace logs.

The Clutha River  (in Maori known as Mata-Au) is the second longest river in New Zealand and the longest in the South Island.

It flows south-southeast 338 kilometres (210 mi) through Central and South Otago from Lake Wanaka into the Pacific Ocean, south east of Balclutha. It is the highest volume river in New Zealand, and the swiftest, discharging a mean flow of 614 cubic metres per second.

The Clutha River is known for its scenery, gold-rush history, and swift turquoise waters.

This section of the Clutha is hardly seen by many Kiwis because there is very little need to travel this road..... hopefully this power trail changes that.
