Join the geocaching fun in Helena, Montana as we spend the weekend caching the very best of the west! We will be giving away lots of great prizes over the weekend including a first place $250 cash prize. Caching activities September 30 through October 2. 9:00 am – 11:30 am, Cache Haunted Helena Locations | Visit www.helenamt.com/hauntedhelena to get the coordinates of these caches, to be published 10/1/16 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.
Join us for a morning adventure and find 10 new event caches. Write down the password from each of the event caches - more details will be at www.helenamt.com/cachebash2016. Starting at 11:00 am, come join us for lunch in the historic Reeder’s Alley and redeem your passwords. First, second, and third place cash prizes will be awarded, totaling $500. Come see us in Reeder's Alley to continue to join us for this fun filled day!
11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Old Fashioned Fun, 212 S. Park Avenue
Participate in a variety of activities on the Caretaker’s Lawn, including gold panning and lawn games, or take a guided tour of the Pioneer Cabin, Helena's oldest documented dwelling, dating back to 1864. Be sure to get your photo with Rosie the GeoTour frog.
11:30 am - 12:30 pm, Lunch
Lunch is on us in the Caretaker’s Lawn at Reeder’s Alley. Registration for the Cache Bash is required to obtain your lunch ticket. Registration is now closed.
1:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Enjoy the Helena GeoTour
After lunch we encourage you to continue the geocaching fun as you work towards completing the newly updated Helena GeoTour. Visit www.helenamt.com/geocaching to print an updated passport.
7:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Benton Cemetery Tour
Hauntings and howling’s and ghosts, oh my! Montana historian and hauntings expert, Ellen Baumler joins us again for an exclusive tour of the Benton Avenue Cemetery in Helena. Come learn about our early pioneers and descendants – those who’ve passed on and those whose presence remains. New Helena geocaching coins will be given, one coin per registered user. Grab the nearby GeoTour #15: Neuman Observatory – GC6GZX5 after the tour.
Only participants who registered prior to Tuesday, September 27 can be guaranteed a commemorative Haunted Helena Cache Bash geocoin and lunch ticket.
