Geocache Description:


You are invited to Christmas Dinner in Staffordshire, on Saturday 3 December 2016. This year it will, again, take place at The Green Man in Hixon, near Stafford. I suggest that we meet from 12-00 and the meal is booked for 1-00. I expect us to finish around 3:30pm. There is a bar, which usually has 3 real ales, where you can join us if you are not eating. I am hoping that Santa will be in attendance. This year a three course meal will cost £20:95 (Children under 10 to be advised), which is a slight increase on last year.

Come late October, I will send you a copy of the full menu and details of how to send me the money, to all those who have logged a Will Attend. You are requested to bring a wrapped geocaching related gift (approx value £5) for the Secret Santa. One gift is needed for each person. This is, of course, optional to attending the event.

If you want to arrive by public transport, please contact me and I will tell you how to reach Hixon.

Roast Carrot Soup with Pancetta Croutons

Red Onion and Goats Cheese Tartlets on a bed of Mixed Salad

Homemade Brandy and Orange Pate served with Onion Chutney and Toast

Seafood Cocktail with Brandy Marie Rose Sauce, Brown Bread and Butter

Chargrilled Hallumi served on Toasted Brioche with Vine Tomatoes

Mains

Roast Turkey with all the usual trimmings, including Pigs in Blankets, Bread Sauce and Apricot & Herb Stuffing

Roast Striploin of Beef with Yorkshire Pudding and Apricot & Herb Stuffing

Braised Venison accompanied by Wild Mushroom and Red Wine Jus

A Pesto encrusted Salmon Steak, with a Lemon and Butter Sauce

A Filo Pastry parcel filled with Mediterranean Vegetable Nuts in in a Pesto Jus(V)

All the above are served with Roast & Duchess Potatoes, a Medley of Green Beans, Sweetcorn, Chargrilled Butternut Squash, Mixed Peppers and Rich Gravy
