Geocache Description:

What better reason is there to get together this December for our monthly Meet and Greet than to celebrate the kaleidoscope of humanity that defines who we are as geocachers?

Now that I have your attention: did you know that December is filled with many multi-cultural celebrations?  Here is a list of the some of the occasions for which people will gather for religious, spiritual or other celebratory reasons:

  • Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr and Eid’ul-Adha: (Muslim)
  • Saint Nicolas Day and Christmas: (Christian)
  • Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe: (Mexican)
  • St. Lucia Day: (Swedish)
  • Hanukkah: (Jewish)
  • Kwanzaa: (African American)
  • Omisoka: (Japanese)
  • Yule and Saturnalia: (Pagan)

So what is with the alphabet soup in the title of this Meet and Greet?  Simply this: we are offering two ways that you can join in the December celebrations during our monthly M&G.  You can choose to participate in either event!

  1. YSTOTT:  Yankee Swap, Tools of The Trade.  Bring a TOTT, new or old, wrapped to disguise and participate in the Yankee Swap.  If you are buying something new for the swap, please limit your spending to no more than $5.00.
  2. YPIPE: Your Presence is present enough.  You don’t have to participate in any of the above to be welcome and to have a good time…just come to the M&G!

PLEASE come and celebrate with us.  If you are choosing to participate in the Yankee Swap, please let us know in your 'Will Attend' log so we can keep a tally. There is no pressure to participate.  It is good enough just to get together and have a fun time!
