Geocache Description:

This geocache is part of the Kinloch Kachin’ series taking you in and around the Highland village of Kinlochleven. Hidden away at the head of Loch Leven and surrounded by soaring mountains, Kinlochleven is already well known to many walkers as being the final stopping off point on the West Highland Way. This series explores the area's Edwardian industrial heritage, as well as the surrounding countryside, taking in loch side views, stalkers paths and waterfalls.

Best foot forward

Tens of thousands of people pass this spot as they head out on the last stage of the West Highland Way before they reach its final destination in Fort William. Some will be striding confidently as they leave the village. Others will hobble past inflicted by a range of agonising blisters or a combination of stiff knees and ankles.

The West Highland Way walkers bring an important source of income to the village, now that the Aluminium Smelter is long closed. Over 15,000 people every year complete the entire route.

This is a film canister cache, so will only take a few small swaps. BYOP. Please place back in the same place.
